OHS Workshop (OHS10)

What is the OHS Workshop?

The OHS workshop provides learners with the opportunity to learn, discuss and understand the objectives of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.

Learners are exposed to the national and provincial structures of the OHS legislation and various sections and regulations of the act, striving toward H&S compliance.

COURSE CONTENT

  • Introduction to occupational health and safety (OHS) and the OHS Act 85, of 1993 (this includes a hand out of OHS Act booklets to keep and utilise)
  • Highlights of and interactions regarding various important and applicable sections of the OHS Act
  • Discussion around interpretations of the OHS Act (e.g. sections 7, 8, 16 (16.2)), 37)
  • Discussion of existing OHS structures/systems, non-conformances and implications

PRE-REQUISITES

English read/write proficiency.
Local language instructors are available on request for groups of 10+
