It’s a one-day course, which is also valid for two years, and equips individuals with both theoretical knowledge, and the practical confidence to control small-scale fires safely while also coordinating evacuation and response procedures.
All participants begin this course by revisiting the core fire science principles before moving on to hands-on training, which involves how to identify the correct extinguishers for each specific fire class, proper operation of hoses and hydrants, as well as using personal protective equipment (PPE)> All these drills are conducted in realistic, supervised settings so that every student can experience the heat, noise, and urgency of a genuine fire scenario, without compromising safety.
EMCARE Fire Fighting Training: Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF)
The next step course is our Advanced Fire Fighting training course (AFF) which is designed for industries and operations where fire risks are severe or complex. It’s also a two-day program that builds on the BFF course foundations, preparing learners to take on high-intensity fire situations in industrial plants, warehouse, refineries, and other high-risk sites.
Trainees get to take part in live fire drills using advanced equipment, learning to control flames fed by various fuel sources and to contain flashover scenarios under instructor supervision. The course has an emphasis on strategic fire suppression, including teamwork, communication under pressure, and the correct use of hydrants, hoses, and foam lines.
All participants also practice rescue and evacuation procedures, covering simulated low-visibility environments while using proper breathing apparatus techniques. These fully immersive scenarios help our learners with physical conditioning and mental resilience that is needed to remain calm, lead effectively and carry out safe operations during real emergencies.
EMCARE Fire Fighting Training: Fire Fighter I and II With Hazmat Modules
If you’re pursuing a career in emergency services, our Fire Fight I and II courses represent the highest level of fire fighting training. Both are accredited by SAESI and IFSAC, and these intensive programmes combine theoretical knowledge, physical conditioning, and live-fire simulations over the course of several weeks.
