At EMCARE, we offer our clients a variety of first aid course options designed for families, volunteers and workplace teams. Our courses combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills, allowing learners to confidently act in times of emergencies. Students who have completed our first aid course strengthen their households and communities with their life-saving skills.

EMCARE’s First Aid / First Aid Refresher Courses

The Basic First Aid/ First Aid Refresher Course (FAR) is our foundational first aid course. This course is ideal for community members who want to learn core emergency response skills. The course covers wound care, CPR, shock management, burns, fractures, and more. Learners will build essential competencies over one day of engaging training. The basic skillset students learn in this course will help them in emergency settings. We recommend this course for neighbourhood groups and parents, building confidence and forming a strong basis for safer communities.

The first Aid level 1 course (FA1) takes basic first aid a little further. This course is a step up from the basic first aid course we offer students. This course is a combination of theory and hands-on practice. The practical aspect provides learners with a deeper understanding of emergency care. Learners can expect to study choking response as well as head and spinal injury management. Students are equipped with the confidence they need to assess emergency scenes and act accordingly. We recommend this course to community organisers, schools and volunteer groups, preparing them for diverse scenarios that require intervention.

The level 2 first aid course offers learners the chance to expand their training and skill sets further. This course provides more comprehensive training, covering child and infant CPR, bites, stings, pelvic injury and environmental emergencies. This course is very valuable to volunteer groups and anyone who interacts with families, youth groups, daycares or outdoor community events. The training from this course will prepare learners to stay calm under severe pressure, assess situations and act quickly, strengthening communities.

Our advanced First Aid Level 3 (FA3) first aid course is designed for those in leadership roles, high-risk environments, or supervisory positions. This four-day course covers complex emergencies, including emergency childbirth and water-related incidents such as drownings. Learners who complete this course become pillars in their communities, ready to handle demanding situations.

At EMCARE, our CPR and AED first aid course focuses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator use. This gives learners the skill set they need to act immediately when every second counts. This is a short course; we recommend taking it after completing the basic first aid training. Individuals with this training can be impactful in community settings, ready to help when needed.

Neighbours Become First Responders

Residents who are trained in first aid are more than just passive bystanders; they are capable community helpers able to assist in traffic accidents or respond to collapses. They can manage injuries in public spaces, are trained to act quickly and can be the difference between life and death. They can share first aid knowledge in their communities, creating safer environments. This is particularly important in rural communities, far from first response and medical help. EMCARE helps create a network of very capable responders, uplifting and strengthening their communities.

Groups of community members, such as schools and sport clubs, are often the heart of the community, which is why first aid knowledge amongst the members are crucial. Leaders and members who have completed their first aid course can confidently act and guide other members of the community. This is very important for emergency events like wildfires and floods. Members who are trained can take control before emergency personnel arrives like the fire brigade or ambulances.

Families Feel More Secure

Emergencies can occur at any given moment with no notice. They can happen at home, at social gatherings or on holiday. Families who take control, study first aid, prepared for any given situation. They develop a sense of readiness and can create security among other family members. Parents should be prepared to care for their children and manage household emergencies.

The earlier that first aid is applied in a medical emergency, the better the chances of a positive outcome for all involved. Research shows that early CPR can more than double the chances of survival following cardiac arrest, and prompt care for wounds or choking can prevent complications and long-term disability. Communities with trained members are usually more resilient when emergencies occur.

First aid courses from EMCARE are more than just a certification. It builds confidence and fosters community responsibility by creating a culture of readiness. Calm and capable members are ready when emergencies hit. At EMCARE, our courses are delivered by highly trained professionals, accredited and with experience in the medical field. This allows our courses to stay up to date, aligning with industry standards.
